Historia

Although the term has been traced to mean ‘the dark one,’ Arabic coffee is a flowering plant that blooms into tiny yet exuberant white flowers; the first scientific description is attributed to Antoine de Jussieu who, after studying a specimen at the Botanic Gardens of Amsterdam, named it Jasminum arabicum; Carl Linnaeus placed the bean into the Coffea genus he invented in 1737.
